# Introduction to FPL Solvers

FPL solvers are algorithmic tools that systematically search for team selections and transfer strategies by combining projection datasets with computational techniques.

# What Solvers Do

Simply put, solvers make projection data actionable. Planning in FPL over a horizon of more than a few weeks involves millions, if not billions, of feasible combinations and transfer sequences that would be impossible to evaluate manually. Humans find it easy to rule the vast majority of these out instantly, but it can be a struggle to go beyond surface level in terms of planning depth - which solvers excel at.

Solvers also enable you to apply and test your preferences through the available settings and ability to add constraints for planned transfers, chips, etc.

# Applications to FPL

# Team Selection

Find optimal squad compositions that maximise the evaluation framework while respecting FPL's constraints.

# Transfer Planning

Identify the most valuable transfer sequences across multiple gameweeks, accounting for projections, transfer costs and whatever settings are incorporated.

# Advanced Problem Solving

Beyond outputting regular transfer solutions, solvers can tackle sophisticated analytical challenges such as: Sensitivity Analysis: Test decision robustness across parameter uncertainty Scenario Planning: Evaluate strategies under different fixture or performance assumptions
