# Introduction to the Season Review Tool

The Season Review is a tool that provides retrospective analysis of your FPL season using advanced metrics and models. By loading your FPL Team ID, it generates charts and statistics that evaluate your performance beyond simple points totals.

The tool analyses your decisions against expected values (EV) and expected goals (xG) to show what modelling expected to happen versus what actually occurred. It benchmarks your performance against the Elite 1000 sample of top managers and provides context about what role variance is considered to have played in your season.

# Key Insights and Features

  • Team Rankings Across Metrics: The Season Review shows your actual outcome alongside your rank if the season were decided by underlying performance data (xG rank) or by the model's projected points (MD rank). There are two versions of MD rank: one using deadline xMins and the other scaled by actual minutes played, cleaning xMins from the feedback process.
  • Elite Manager Comparison: The tool compares your season to a reference group of elite FPL managers across various benchmarks. It measures how closely your picks and performance mirrored the cohort.

  • Elite Doppelgängers: The tool detects the managers from the elite sample who have made the most similar decisions to your team. If you qualified as a member of the sample, you will appear as your own doppelgänger, with a 100% match and a golden bar.

  • Luck & Variance Analysis: A core feature is quantifying variance (luck). The tool estimates how many points you gained or lost due to luck by comparing your actual points to model-based expected points and xG points. It then shows a Luck Percentile to contextualise your variance compared to other managers.
