About FPL Review
fplreview.com was launched at the start of the 2018/19 season to provide data-driven tools for Fantasy Premier League managers. What started as a personal project has since become a trusted FPL analytics resource.
The original site was built around two ideas:
Player projections based on bookmaker odds with editable expected minutes (xMins). Combining betting market inferrences with xMins into a single reference point that managers could adjust with their own knowledge.
Feedback on decision quality using xG data and market odds, adjusted for minutes played. This became the Season Review tool, based on analysis comparing highly-regarded managers with actual top performers.

Evolution Over Time
Since the site launch, some additions worth highlighting over the years have been:
- The Planner to complement projections, with pitch view format (August 2019) and multi-draft storage (2022/23)
- The Massive Data Model incorporating performance data, market information, and tactical shifts. Iterated annually since 2020, extending beyond the original bookmaker based modelling
- Transfer Solver starting as single-period (2019/20), then multi-period solving (2022/23), sensitivity analysis and chip timing (2023/24), and Linear Optimisation (2024/25)
- Season Review providing exact data-based ranks as of 23/24, having used estimates based on sampling in original versions
Development continues across the site with ongoing improvements and new features.
